Ready for Dessert?

Unfortunately, no this is not a pie post.. BUT listen up because this is just as tasty. Today I was in the kitchen with Desky when I learned how to make the easiest dessert off all time, its called Cascos De Guava (translates to Guava Skin). The name says it all, its literally the shell (or skin) of a guava. Check out my Instagram, @tanyaalynne, for a step by step video or it will be posted later on my youtube.

Try this super easy recipe at home. Remember, this is a passed down recipe, so it is not exact measurements. Have fun, play around, and make it your own!

Ingredients

Sugar as Needed

About 2 Cups of Water (depending on the amount of guavas)

Guavas

Cream Cheese to Serve

-Peel the skin off the guavas, making sure not to take off to much meat.

- Cut guava in half and with a spoon, take out the inner meat and seeds.

-What should be left is a shell like layer with no skin or inner fruit.

-Save the skins and inner fruit to make a marmalade!!!

-Add shells, water, and sugar to a pressure cooker and cook for 5 minutes with lid on. The guava does not have to submerged in water, so don't freak out.

- After 5 minutes, remove lid and boil until tender.

- Make sure to try it and add sugar as needed.

- Once cooked, remove from heat and cool down.

-Enjoy warm or cool over cream cheese!
